THEME/TOPICS: Conversion: God’s Answer for Humanity’s Greatest Need, written by E. Stanley Jones, presents the necessity and nature of conversion from self to Christ and His Kingdom; the role of the Holy Spirit in conversion; the place and role of the Church in conversion. You will be given the opportunity to share your lived experiences “in Christ” with others around the table; stories of actual cases of conversion, and the opportunity to say “yes” to Life itself - to Christ - who calls everyone to conversion once-for-all and moment-by-moment.
Once surrendered, everything is different including, our relationship with God, with ourselves, and with others. Life, instead of being a problem, becomes a possibility, “awakening it, unifying it, making it care, putting a new zest into everything, making it love.” (Jones) God’s offer of conversion is the key that opens the door to Life!
Join us live online every second Thursday of each month at 7:00pm for an Evangelism Huddle. Huddle's are hosted by John Zimmerman and feature a different presenter each night focusing on evangelism ministry. All are invited to the discussion and can share questions or comments through an online chat. Simply direct your web browser to af10.online.church. No registration or password required.
This online course leads you to learn from John Wesley how to practice relational evangelism. You will discover that evangelism involves not only sharing your faith with others but also welcoming people into a community where they can grow in faith. You will learn that evangelism/mission/outreach requires developing relationships with those that we are leading to Christ. Transforming Evangelism online two-week class will fulfill the continuing education requirements for renewal of Certified Lay Servant (one advanced course every 3 years), Certified Lay Speaker (one advanced course every 3 years), or Certified Lay Minister (one advanced course every 2 years). Classes are scheduled throughout the year.
The Institute for Discipleship at Southwestern College offers certifications in several ministry-related areas. Certifications require just four courses of $125 each — a total of $500. These courses will give you a solid theological understanding to support your work, as well as practical knowledge from experts. All courses are taught by instructors who have years of on-the-ground experience in their particular ministry area. Gain tools to make a big impact in your ministry area and interact with other Christians from around the country who do the same kind of ministry you do!
The 2022 course schedule is:
